Abstract
The relationship between jurisprudence, the Quran, and geography is an issue that can be addressed from different angles; but what is certain is that this relationship can be expressed more perceptibly and concretely through the study of the places of the Quran and their geographical and archaeological characteristics, in such a way that tangible cultural influences can be observed at the heart of this relationship. The mission of this article is to study the relationship of places mentioned in the Quran on jurisprudence and, consequently, its cultural influences. The main method of this research is a qualitative approach of grounded theory, which was achieved by using the data-driven theorizing method by examining two hundred and twenty-three verses of the Quran that mention places. By examining these data, four central categories were extracted. The findings of the research indicate that the places of the Holy Quran, in addition to determining the spatial boundaries with jurisprudential authority, are also effective in explaining instances of action with jurisprudential authority. The results of the article show that in axial coding, we also witness logical and causal relationships, conditional and process categories, and strategies that lead to appropriate outcomes; so that examining these places provides a space for inferring jurisprudential rulings in the form of an interconnected network that has a balanced relationship with the central concept of religion and its impact on culture.
